Door entry
Door entry for care facilities
See who is at the door and let them in from the desk or the nurses station.
How it works
The door is an extension on your phone system.
The door station joins your phone system like a phone. Visitors press the button and it calls whoever you choose: the front desk by day, the nurses station at night, a ring group on weekends.
Because it lives on the same system as your phones, changing who answers is a schedule, not a service call.
See the visitor
On a video phone or an indoor monitor at the desk.
Codes for staff
Keypad door stations let staff come in with a code.
Day and night schedules
Different people answer the door at different times.
Every entrance
Main doors, side doors, gates and loading docks.
Planning an entrance
What we check before you buy.
- Is there a network cable and power at the door, or do we need to run one?
- Does the door have an electric strike or magnetic lock the intercom should release? We work with your door hardware installer where needed.
- Who answers, and when: the front desk, the nurses station, a ring group, an indoor monitor?
- Is the door station outdoors or in a vestibule, and does it need to be vandal resistant?

Questions
What operators ask us.
Can the intercom ring our existing desk phones?
Yes, if your phone system supports SIP, which most current systems do. It works with EmpireUC and Facility Connect.
Can staff open the door from the nurses station?
Yes. Most door stations have a relay that releases an electric strike or lock, and staff open it with a key press on the phone or monitor. Your door hardware has to support it, so we check first.
Can we use different answering points at night?
Yes. The door follows a schedule: the front desk by day, the nurses station or a ring group after hours.
Do you install it?
We plan the entrance with you, set the intercom up on your phone system and test it at the door.
