EmpireUC uptime

Three data centers. All live, all the time.

EmpireUC runs in San Jose, Dallas and Miami at the same time, with every setting synced between them as it changes. If one site has a bad day, the other two carry your calls and nobody has to flip a switch.

How it stays up

Built so one failure is never your outage.

Most phone systems keep a spare site switched off and hope the switch works on the day. EmpireUC runs all three sites live, so there is nothing to switch.

  • Three sites, all live

San Jose, Dallas and Miami all carry calls at the same time. No site sits idle waiting for a disaster, so there is nothing to switch on when one is needed.

  • Synced in real time

Your call routes, menus, ring groups, settings and voicemail are copied across all three sites as they change. Any site can take any call.

  • Traffic finds the healthiest site

Phones and apps are pointed at the platform by name, not by one address. If a site has trouble, they are steered to the others and the calls keep flowing.

  • Maintenance without downtime

Updates and repairs are done one site at a time while the others carry the load, so there is no planned outage window for your phones.

Your side of it

Uptime that reaches the front desk.

A data center that stays up is no help if the phone on the desk cannot find it. This is the part we do for every account.

  • Every phone set up by us

Failover only works if the phone knows where to go. We auto-provision every phone we install, so each one follows the backup plan without anyone touching it.

  • A region near you

Accounts are placed in the East, Central or West region, close to your buildings, with the other sites standing by behind it.

  • A plan for your building too

Data centers are only half of it. If your own internet goes down, we set where calls go instead: the mobile app, a cell phone or another site.

  • Watched 24/7

The network is monitored around the clock, and you call one number, 24/7, for anything.

Questions

Uptime, plainly.

What happens to a call if a data center goes down?

New calls go to the other sites straight away, with your routes, menus and voicemail already there. Phones re-register to a healthy site on their own.

Do I need to do anything when a site fails?

No. There is no switch to flip and nothing to call us about. That is the point of running all three sites live.

What if the internet in my building goes down?

Your phones cannot reach any data center without a connection, so we plan for that too: calls forward to the mobile app, a cell phone or another location until the line is back. A backup internet line keeps the desk phones working as well.

Where is my data kept?

In U.S. data centers in San Jose, Dallas and Miami.
