Business texting
What 10DLC means for you.
10DLC means “10-digit long code”: an ordinary local number used to send business texts. If you text customers from your business number, it has to be registered.
Why the rules exist
Business texting from regular phone numbers has grown fast. To keep it free of spam, the major U.S. mobile carriers — AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon — now require businesses to register with The Campaign Registry (TCR), an independent company that manages registrations on their behalf. Unregistered numbers can have their texts blocked.
What you register
- Your business (the “brand”)
- Every phone number you text from
- The kinds of messages you send (the “campaigns”) — for example, appointment reminders or customer support
Registration carries one-time fees and monthly fees. These are set industry-wide, not by your phone provider.
How to register
